A pterygium, a wedge shaped thickening of the outer coating of the eye that extends onto the cornea that can become red and irritated. As of date, surgical excision is the only option and the standard of care for pterygium patients.
This study is evaluating an investigational eye drop for reducing conjunctival hyperemia (eye redness) and preventing pterygium progression in eyes with pterygium. The active medicine in the study drug is a multikinase inhibitor (a medicine stops a number of proteins that are involved in certain diseases).
Eye exams, visits, and study eye drops will be provided free of charge.
